[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="4928"] An Air China Boeing 777-300ER to land at Beijing Capital International Airport(PEK/ZBAA)[/caption] BOSTON -- The U.S. DOT announced that they will allow Chinese carriers to operate 50 U.S. flights per week from March 31, a significant increase from the current 35 weekly flights. It is a move to bring flights back to the time before COVID, but there is still a long way to go. The DOT said in the statement that it is a huge step to bring flights back, "a significant step forward in further normalization of the US-China market in anticipation of the summer 2024 traffic season". Before COVID in the first month of 2020, there were more than 300 round-trip flights between China and the U.S., with roughly half operated by Chinese carriers and the other half by American carriers. In May 2023, the DOT boosted flights operated by Chinese carriers from 8 to 12 per week. until Sept. 1,2023, Starting Sept.1, 2023, the number was increased to 18, later from Oct. 19 it was increased to…
BOSTON — Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) Lynx Air has announced that it will cease its services on February 26 and has filed for court protection from creditors under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). Lynx Air is a start-up Canadian budget airline based in Calgary, Alberta. It has logged a mere 22 months in operation, serving routes within Canada as well as destinations in the United States and Mexico. It was planning to start service between Toronto (YYZ) and Boston from March 28. In the statement it released, the reason for stopping service is attributed to "financial pressures associated with inflation, fuel costs, exchange rates, cost of capital, regulatory costs, and competitive tension in the Canadian market have ultimately proven too steep a mountain for our organization to overcome." The company stated in the FAQ section that they will not be available to assist with refunds and asked customers to contact their credit card company to obtain refunds. The company is also going to void all the travel vouchers and flight vouchers once it ceases…
this is a chart that i created with Tableau. It showing the relationship between the average air price between state. At first i was trying put the airport code with the price, it did come with the map, but there was only airport point there. Since I would like to make it connect with states, i then add State factor into it, then the whole map goes white. there is no point at all. So my next step will going to put the airport point and the state together. there is another problem is that the price is not averaged by states, so it all add together. I also need to fix that problem. Three questions that explored your data visually provoked you to ask (you don't have to answer them; ask them). what makes this different by state? How can this price connected with the number of passenger ? Is there any relationship with the income by state?
i will be using this Active Food Establishment Licenses as my first data site. the table also available below. Who collects this data set? If it's an organization, which department of the organization? Is there a specific person listed who you could contact? the data was collected by the The Health Division of the Department of Inspectional Services (ISD), City of Boston and published by the Department of Innovation and Technology, City of Boston. There isn't a specific person that I could reach, but there is an email list on the website that could let me connect with their ISD team. Why do you think the organization collects this data? Does it specify how it uses the data? think the data was originally collected simply because it is health division's job to issue the food establishment licenses and they have to keep everything in to record. it said in the description "The Health Division of the Department of Inspectional Services (ISD) creates and enforces food safety codes to protect public health. All businesses which…

Boston, the east coast city I'm currently live in and studying. Irvine, the west coast city in California. they are two different vibe of the city but there are some similar thing that both cities share together. Let's start with some background. Population & Diversity Based on the data from DataUSA, summarized from the Census Bureau ACS 5-year Estimate. White hold about half share of total 673 thousands of people in Boston, followed by Black or African American and Hispanic which both take around 20% share. Asian with slightly less than 10% become the final composition. Compare to Boston, Irvine is not that diversity. The Asian and White composed 80% of the 298 thousands people's city, with 42.6% of Asian and 37.4% of White. 12% of the people in the city are Hispanic, and Black and African American hold share as less than 2%. It is the "the largest city in the continental United States with an Asian plurality" according to the Orange County Register, and only Honolulu have Asian more than other race in the…
